Something very dear to me died today. My beloved Yonex Carbonex 20 badminton racquet bit the dust, after 12 well-loved years.

My racquet has taken me through many hard-fought high school, college and Ontario badminton championships, as well as some heartbreaking losses. He's taken a beating off my right leg many, many times and the floor a few times. He took his final smash this afternoon and succumbed to a massive fracture...and it wasn't even a good smash, either. Sigh.

Rest in peace, little buddy, I will miss you.
